George Perdicaris (Geoperdis online) is a mediamaker, educator, and chronicler with four decades of work across digital media, technology, and journalism.

He co-founded Toronto Photovideo in 1987, Canada's first photo/video/computer specialty retailer. He founded Traveller Magazine in 1989 and Mediaworks Magazine in 1994. In 2009 he co-founded Mondoville.com, Canada's first social media digital news service.

Born in Toronto, he was raised partly by his maternal grandparents in Arcadia, Greece, returning to Canada in 1976. He's now based in Guelph, Ontario, and his work carries both roots forward — the Canadian and the Arcadian.

He writes across three streams here — Greekworld, Canadaville, and Mediaware — under the guiding framework Apollo's Shadow: societies performing modernity while running on older kinship, village, and tribal logic, time-biased cultures wearing the institutional costume of space-biased states.
